Good week for LMVCC

Finally some cricket weather, and pleased to report on an excellent playing week for London Maccabi Vale CC.

Wednesday saw the U15s take on Winchmore Hill, LMVCC scoring 123-5 (runs for Rafi Z, Yishai and Levi) and restrict WH to 113-8 in reply with two wickets for Oli Ginsberg and Calev Morris. A good performance also from Ben with 1-13 from his 4 overs.

The next evening, our U11s went even better scoring 108-3 off of their 20 and restricting Winchmore Hill to 70-7 off their overs. Great performances (amongst others) from Jack Tunkel, Binyamin Laitner, Zac Star, Jake, Josh and Tobias.

On Sunday we (finally) got our adult season up and running with two matches and certainly made up for lost time. The 1sts in a friendly vs London Leopards bowled first and restricted the oppo to 207-8 with Brando taking 4-26 and Joseph Boyask 3-17. In reply, Dan Grusd shook off any rustiness with a brutal 123 not out including 8 sixes and we won by 6 wickets.

Over at Harrow CC, your chairman captained the 2s in their first Chess Valley League game and managed to bat first as requested by the rest of the team. Despite an early wicket, Adam Spooner batted majestically and guided along Noah Zackheim (46) to a huge 2nd wicket stand. Spoons was eventually out for 150, but with further contributions down the order we ended up on 276-4 off our allotted 45 overs. In reply, wickets tumbled at regular intervals with Judah Kandel leading the way with a superb spell of left arm spin of 3-15, whilst Benjy Lovat (3-29), Adam Hershkorn (2-30), Jake Musikant (1-22) and Sam Feigenbaum (1-14) also shared in the fun, LMVCC running out victors by 136 runs.

It is worth pointing out that both 1sts and 2nds had 7 U18 players playing for them on Sunday - precisely what we are trying to achieve as a club.

To cap things off, on Sunday morning, we had 39 kids training at Rowley Lane, with a record 24 U11s!

Now that you all feel proud to feel part of the club...a reminder please we really need[b] SUBS PAID NOW.

Please don't wait for us to chase you and pay up - £210 covers all matches and training for the kids pus a new shirt. Adults rates are £25 plus £15 per match or £210 for the season (£150 students).
